BP Seeks Pay Back From Halliburton Co.

It was announced this week that BP is seeking to have Halliburton Co., its cement contractor for the Macondo well project whose blowout set off the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, pay all BP’s related costs and damages. BP has paid more than $21 Billion in clean-up costs and economic damages to individuals, businesses and governments impacted by the oil spill.

Without a doubt, the BP oil spill was one of the worst environmental disasters in our world’s history. With the finger-pointing, it will likely be years of litigation before the internal fights as to who is responsible for paying what before all is said and done. It should be interesting to watch how the BP v. Halliburton fight turns out.
