Cedar Park, Texas Cracks Down on Uninsured Drivers

One Central Texas town is cracking down on those drivers who do not maintain liability insurance coverage on their vehicles. The City of Cedar Park, Texas announced that it will have zero tolerance for those drivers pulled over who cannot prove that they have liability insurance coverage. Texas law requires that all vehicles be covered with a minimum of $30,000.00 in liability insurance coverage. Despite this being the law, some studies show that about 25% of all drivers in Texas have zero liability insurance coverage. When an uninsured car causes a motor vehicle crash, many car crash victims are left high and dry. Unless those crash victims have uninsured motorist coverage on their vehicle, there will likely be no help to pay car damage or medical bills. The Stewart Law Firm sees, all too often, the impact of not maintaining liability insurance. We salute the City of Cedar Park and the stance that it has taken to crack down on uninsured drivers.
